About the Training
This training is aimed at qualifiedĀ MiKK Cross-border MediatorsĀ wishing to aquire the knowledge and skills needed for including children directly (Child Inclusive Mediation, CIM) in cross-border family mediation, including in international parental child abduction cases.Ā
The two-day training seminar is designed to be highly interactive and practice-oriented, providing participants with practical tools and relevant knowledge of including children directly in mediation therereby ensuring that the voice of the child is appropriately heard and duly considered. The two training days consit of a mix of input sessions, role plays and small group work. The training workshop will have regard to established Child Inclusive Mediation (CIM) standards and guidelines, Ā the applicable international legal framework and use of case studies in order to maximise the particpantsā learning experience. These will be combined with relevant child development aspects in the training.Ā
Participants will be introduced to different models of child-inclusive mediation in cross-border family disputes. They will have the opportunity to discuss in groups as well as practise in role plays ways of preparing the parents, engaging children of different ages in mediation, and managing feedback to the parents. Participants will be able to exchange best practices with each other in group discussions and role plays.Ā
Throughout the course participants will be encouraged to draw on their own experience as cross-border family mediators and apply this to the context of child-inclusive mediation.
MiKK isĀ a āRecognized European Training Providerā featured on the European Commissionās Training Platform (ETP) .
The ETP platform is only open to recognised EU-level training providers, whose expertise has been recognised by the EU. It currently features 24 training providers across the EU.
