This 20-hour advanced training course will cover the relevant legal aspects of international family conflicts, differences in national family legislation, the 1980 and 1996 Hague

Conventions, (the Brussels IIa Regulation) as well as the best interest and the voice of the child. Participants will be introduced to tools and methods for mediating high conflict cases. Drawing on the experience of the trainers and participants, participants will examine the issues associated with mediating across cultures.

Lawyers from ASEAN countries who practise mediation or are involved in international family law cases are invited to attend.
