Training A | This two-day interactive training will introduce cross-border mediators to different models and practices of Child Inclusive Mediation (CIM) in cross-border family disputes. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss this topic in detail and to analyze the pros and cons of hearing children in cross-border family disputes, including in international child abduction cases. Participants will have the opportunity to practice in role plays ways of engaging children of different ages in mediation. The seminar will introduce participants to ways of preparing parents and children for Child Inclusive Mediation and managing the feedback to the parents. Participants will be able to exchange best practices with each other in group discussions. Interactive exercises and self-reflection will be employed throughout the training. These will be combined with relevant aspects of child development theory.
The training is reserved to qualified CBFM mediators and will take place in Berlin (Germany, venue TBA) on two alternative dates:
Training A: 7-8 March 2019, Berlin
Training B: 4-5 April 2019, Berlin
The content of Training A and Training B will be identical. As such, participants may only attend one training, not both.
Training Fee: Euro 30. Please note that any travel and accommodation costs are at the participants’ own expense. (Non-EU participants may also apply to participate but special conditions may apply).
The training will be conducted by MiKK and Centre IKO as part of the VOICE project, co-funded by the European Commission.
